We handle invoices, VAT breakdowns and client details. You download your overview and pass it to your accountant.

When a client keeps coming back to you, our commission drops and you keep more. The longer the relationship, the better you earn.
What you take home
We take a commission on every booking. It drops the more often a client returns to you, because a regular client costs us nothing to acquire. We pass that saving on.

From the third booking the client gets a discount. That discount comes out of our commission, not your rate.
What we ask of you
We do not let just anyone into people's homes. That is exactly why clients book through us, and why you do not have to keep proving yourself.
Demonstrable experience
At least a year in your field, or a completed qualification. We ask about your work and sometimes for photos of it.
Registered with the Chamber of Commerce
You work independently, with your own rate and your own diary. Not registered yet? We will help you get there.
Valid ID
We check your ID during the introductory meeting. For some services we also ask for a certificate of good conduct.
An introductory conversation
Short, in Rotterdam or by video call. We want to know who will be walking into our clients' homes.
Before you sign up
Do I have to give up my own clients?
No. Covered sits alongside your own business or job. What you do with us is the hours you choose to open up; the rest of your week is and stays yours.
How much do I have to work?
Nothing at all. You open up whatever you have spare. A quiet week costs you nothing and carries no penalty. Open up nothing and you simply get no requests.
When do I get paid?
The day after your job, by 10 am. Not at the end of the month, not after thirty days — the next morning. We can do that because the client already paid at booking, so we are not fronting anything and you carry no risk of not being paid.
What if a client complains afterwards?
Because we pay out fast, your money is usually with you before the 48-hour complaints window closes. If a complaint turns out to be justified and the client is refunded, we settle it against a future payout — never by taking money back off your account. We always ask for your side of the story first.
Can I turn down a job?
Always. A request comes in with the time, place and service, and you accept or you do not. Declining has no effect on your standing in the app.
I am employed. Can I do this on the side?
That depends on your employment contract. Many contracts contain a clause about secondary work. Do check with your employer; it is your responsibility, and we would rather you did not run into trouble over it.
Who is liable if something breaks?
Damage during a job booked through Covered is covered. You report it to us and we settle it with the client. We do expect you to carry your own liability insurance, as any independent professional should.
Which area can I work in?
We are starting in Rotterdam and the surrounding area: the city centre, Kralingen, Blijdorp, Hillegersberg, Delfshaven, Feijenoord, Schiedam and Capelle aan den IJssel. You set how far you are willing to travel.
